Mbappe Excluded from France Squad for Second Straight Time
Kylian Mbappe's absence from the France squad for a second straight time highlights the challenges he faces at Real Madrid, as coach Didier Deschamps prioritizes team unity and performance over individual star power.
Kylian Mbappe has been excluded from the France squad for the second time in a row, as manager Didier Deschamps stated that the choice was made with the best interests of the team in mind. The 25-year-old forward has been struggling to regain his form at Real Madrid, and his challenges appear to have carried over to his participation with Les Bleus. After previously missing France's matches against Israel and Belgium, Mbappe's absence from the upcoming Nations League games against Italy and Israel has sparked concerns.
Deschamps addressed the media, explaining that the decision to exclude the player was made after conversations with him, but he ultimately felt it was in the best interest of the team. "Kylian wanted to participate, but this is a one-time decision for this gathering. It’s for the best," Deschamps stated. He further refuted any rumors regarding Mbappe's wish to remain with Real Madrid and confirmed that the choice was not swayed by external factors.
Although some may criticize the decision to leave out the captain of France, Deschamps underscored the necessity of making tough choices for the benefit of the team. “I must make significant, challenging decisions, and I accept full responsibility for them,” he stated. “Behind every player, there is also a human being. I can’t please everyone. This is my responsibility, and I take that to heart.”
Mbappe's absence provides him with a chance to fully recover during the international break, which may enable him to collaborate more closely with Real Madrid's coaching staff to enhance his understanding of the team's system and his role in it.
